Crisis Management Plan Workshop
Learn what a crisis is, how it impacts you and how to develop your own crisis management plan to help you maintain your mental health.
You will leave this information session with a draft plan that you can work on and develop with your supports.
Registration is required for this session.

Who should attend?
Anyone who needs help getting through a mental health crisis.
Single Session Supportive Counselling
Get immediate help with an issue related to your mental health.
Our Single Session Supportive Counselling offers you personalized support so you can build a plan to work through one of the following concerns:
- coping with a specific mental health challenge,
- caregiver challenges,
- housing,
- addictions,
- education,
- access to community services, or
- other concern you may be dealing with.
Counsellors will concentrate on helping you build a plan for one or two concerns within the session.
Registration is required and space is limited.

Who should attend?
Anyone in the York Region and South Simcoe areas who needs help getting through a mental health issue. No formal diagnosis required.
Mental Health Resource Days
These sessions are for anyone 16 years and older, who does not currently have case management support and needs help figuring out mental health resources and how to access available services in York Region and South Simcoe.
Once a month you can book a 60 minute appointment to speak with a case manager so that you can get help with:
- filling out initial applications for financial assistance programs such as Ontario Works (OW), Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), housing applications,
- finding information about available community resources, such as, free counselling options, local programs, where to access shelter, food, furniture, community meals, etc.,
- finding information on supportive housing options in York Region,
- getting connected to ministry-funded services,
- requesting short-term supports via Streamlined Access, and much more!
Registration is required and space is limited.

Walk-in Crisis Counselling at Newmarket Public Library
If you're experiencing a mental health crisis you can speak to a crisis worker in a confidential study room at the Newmarket Public Library.
Family members and friends of people who may be experiencing a mental health issue are also encouraged to drop by.

Creating Hope Through Knowledge: Mental Health Caregiver Education Series
Are you a caregiver providing support to a family member or friend who is experiencing mental health challenges?
Join us for six 90 minute educational sessions which will provide you with tools and skills to support and advocate for your loved one's needs, as well as developing techiques to improve your well-being.
Topics include:

- Mental Health 101 - Understanding Diagnoses and Symptoms
- Coping with Mental Health Crisies and Emergencies
